An Artist’s Journey

Michael J. White creates art because he has to. It is who he is.

Michael’s works are largely digital but encompass photos, paint and “found objects”.

His inspiration generally comes from nature — often plants — a source of fascination since his childhood.

Michael’s formal education is varied. He studied horticulture and biology after high school. He enjoyed the intellectual nature of science but felt something was lacking. He threw himself into theatre and graphic arts, using these skills to support his family for over twenty years.

Michael still felt
something was lacking.

Tired of creating art for someone else, he one day choose to create art for himself and to share with others his perspective and love for nature. In doing so, Michael found himself.
